[读书学习] 请教：row the bus是什么意思？

看一篇文章题目为：Rowing the Bus，讲的是一个孩子因不能忍受被人欺负转学，遇到另一个被欺负的孩子欲与之成为朋友，但是害怕自己又回到原来的状态，不敢与这孩子成为朋友，看着他受欺负也不敢站起来说话。后来这个孩子转学走了，他自己就一直心里有愧疚，但终于成长，变得强壮，敢于替别的受欺负（Bullied）的孩子说话了。这文章中几处出现 row the bus，不知道什么意思。
有一句话是这样的：A glimplse of my own past, of rowing the bus, of being mocked for my clothes, my lisp, my glasses, and my absent father flashed in my mind.

谢谢，大概明白了是什么意思。不过，这个Row在这里是像“划船”的意思吧？

Rowing meant that on the way to school I had to sit in the dirty bus
aisle littered with paper, gum wads, and spitballs. Then I had to simulate
the motion of rowing while the kids around me laughed and chanted, “Row, row, row the bus.” I was forced to do this by a group of bullies who
spent most of their time picking on me.
